**Nothing compares to fireworks on the beach & Ocean City, MD has so many places to enjoy them!

Fireworks over the ocean and bay have been a long standing tradition here in OC for locals and visitors alike. It’s the busiest day of the year for a reason! Fresh salty air, the sound of waves rolling in, the smell of local delicacies and a feeling of electricity in the air, make it one of the East Coast’s most popular holiday destinations.

Traditionalists may enjoy sitting on the beach at North Division Street downtown where a concert on the beach begins at 8 pm, followed by an incredible fireworks show. You can even ride the ferris wheel and watch for a one of a kind experience. Grab some of your favorite boardwalk grub, a blanket, some great company and settle in for an all-American celebration.

Uptown, Northside park at 125th St. on the Bay, also has a show and fireworks with similar hours. Here you’ll also find a playground and food vendors. Catch the bus to avoid driving in the traffic and hunting for parking. It’s only $3 for a 24-hour pass and think of all the people watching you can do as you travel to the park!

Seacrets: Jamaica USA located at 48th St. on the Bay has a great display yearly. What can we say? It’s Seacrets!!!

Now that you know where the action is, we can save you quite a bit of time and frustration in looking for parking and accommodations. Plan ahead and spend your time doing the fun things!

Now that you know where the displays are, we’re going to let you in on a few secrets! If the crowds aren’t exactly your favorite thing but you don’t want to miss it, consider these insider tips: guests of the Madison Beach Motel, located 1/2 block from the main activities on the beach, also has a huge new sundeck where you can sit front row and see it all without ever leaving your motel. South Beach Apartment guests also have the opportunity to enjoy it here. Bungalow 8 is steps from the beach and boardwalk on 8th Street; just walk a few feet and you’ll see it all. At Buckingham Hotel near 15th St., just cross over Baltimore Ave. and watch the show from right there!

Some other great vantage points are:

Stinky beach in West Ocean City, a quaint spot on the Bay looking directly over to the rides and amusements. Hooper’s Crab House and Mickey Fins each have outdoor seating with great views. Enjoy a great meal with the show. Take a walk over the Route 50 Bridge and experience seeing several displays.
